The following letters were emailed to Reavis students and families on March 13, 2020:
Dear Reavis Families:
The health, safety, and well-being of our school community continues to be the highest priority at District 220. Reavis High School has made the decision to close school beginning Monday, March 16-Friday, April 3, 2020. The following schedule will be implemented:
Monday, March 16-Friday, March 20---e-Learning
Monday, March 23-Friday, April 3--extended spring break
As you know, we have a robust e-Learning plan that will allow us to continue all students’ education. As a reminder, our e-Learning plan is located on our website: https://sites.google.com/reavisd220.org/elearning/home.
Students will not be expected to participate in e-Learning during the extended spring break. Our current plan is to return to normal operations on Monday, April 6. However, this is a rapidly-evolving situation which may require changes on a daily basis. We ask students to monitor their Reavis Gmail accounts for important updates related to e-Learning.
Our athletic department will send a separate message with details surrounding the spring season. Athletic pictures scheduled for today will take place. There will be no practices tomorrow, Saturday, March 14.
We are in uncharted territories which can elicit many emotions. We encourage you to continue to follow the guidance of the US Department of Education, Illinois Department of Public Health, and the Stickney Township Health Clinic. The Reavis Administrative Team will update you if there are any significant changes in our district plan.
We appreciate your patience and support as we navigate this serious situation.
Sincerely,
Dr. Riordan
