Reavis Families:
I would like to thank you for your support throughout the 2019-2020 school year, especially during the last weeks of the school year when we were unable to continue learning opportunities in person. Needless to say, there hasn’t been a year quite like this in any of our years in education. Let me start out by saying we sure did miss our students. We still do. I strongly believe positive outcomes derive from every situation. First and foremost, we celebrated the graduates of the Class of 2020. The drive-thru graduation included a beautiful day complimented by enormous family and community support. In addition, we said goodbye to district employees who dedicated their careers to Reavis High School. We wish PE Teacher Jennifer Shupryt and Support Staff Members Sandy Joy, Sheila Carey, and Helen Tabor much health and happiness in retirement. Finally, summer arrived with longer days and enjoyable weather that have provided us with an outside option to explore nature and strengthen our mental and physical health.
The Reavis Administration is participating in ongoing dialogue between all stakeholders regarding summer and fall academic plans that best support student learning. The Re-Opening of Reavis Task Force has met to discuss the district’s proposed plans that include opportunities for summer school as well as the 2020-2021 school year. Our number one priority continues to be the health and safety of our students and staff. We will be sending all stakeholders a survey in June, and we encourage you to share your feedback with us.
Finally, I would like to express my support for all students and families. We are sincerely proud to serve the students of Burbank and Stickney communities. Every child deserves the high quality instruction provided by District 220. We will continue to provide a safe and inclusive, student centered environment in academics, activities, and athletics that prepare all students for college and career readiness in an ever-changing and diverse, global society.
Better Together,
Principal Schultz
