Reavis hosted the area IHSA Solo & Ensemble competition last Saturday, where our students’ musical talents shined bright. Reavis competitors had the highest point total of all SSC schools; state-wide, they placed 7th in vocal events, 4th in band events, and 7th overall. Additionally, Reavis competitors were named Best of Day in two events. This is a distinct honor: Only 30 performances out of the 975 that took place can earn this designation. Special congratulations go to Natalie Phillips, Charlize Burciaga, and Justin Zavala (event: Vocal Trio) performing "I Want To Be Ready" by Rosephanye Powell AND Justin Zavala performing "Movin' Too Fast" from The Last Five Years (event: Vocal Musical Theatre Solo). Kudos to Andy Davis and Brandon Faust, whose work with these students each day makes all the difference!
